Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Primary Location) or Clearwater, FL
This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids (Primary Location) or Clearwater, FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.

Job Description: Customer Applications Engineer: Multi-Core Technologies for Aerospace.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Engineer with extensive knowledge in various Computer Processor Architectures including ARM, Intel, RISC, PowerPC, and GPU. This role focuses on multicore processing, operating systems, software, and certification, supporting our IRAD, pursuits, and program support efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
IRAD and Program Support: Initially involved in active multicore IRAD efforts, defining certifiable approaches to multicore enabled systems. This includes processor trades and support for various IRADs such as the IMA Demonstrator.
Program Collaboration: Work with the programs to understand needs and provide support.
Processor Roadmap Development: Engage with processor suppliers to understand industry trends and key features, contributing to GE Aerospace's processor roadmap.
Long-term Multi-core Coordination: Provide multi-year support to coordinate processor selection and use case plans for multicore certification in adopting programs.
Technical Contributions: Involve in processing and operating systems, support relevant committees, write white papers, and offer general applications engineering support.
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Computer Architecture, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in Embedded Computing, Software, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent capacity.
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel as required. Average Travel 20-%-25%.

Location: Ability to work in Grand Rapids, MI. - A comprehensive corporate relocation package is available.

Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of computer architectures, multi-core processors, and their features.
Real-Time Embedded Experience: Proficiency in real-time embedded systems and configurations.
Certification Knowledge: Familiarity with Avionics standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, CAST-32A, A(M)C20-193, AA-22-01, S3I-SWAQ-MCP-DOC-001, etc.
Civil/Military Certification: Experience with civil/military certification processes.
