Arxada is looking for a Project Engineering Manager based in Visp, Switzerland. In this role you will perform project management and process and/or project engineering work in Capital project environment.

The PMO Manager Visp leads complex projects at the Visp site, usually related to new growth projects. This includes translating the overarching objectives into individual workstream objectives and project charters in close collaboration with the workstream leaders, tracking against objectives on a workstream by workstream basis at a regular cadence, including defining remediation actions where necessary, and diving deep into areas when and where specific support is required.

Essential Job Functions:

• Overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects
• Setting up the overall project organisation, defining deliverables by workstream and ways of working/interacting, overall project plan, risk assessment, project controlling & reporting, change management, escalation mechanism
• Leading active internal/external stakeholder management aligned with project sponsor
• Hold WS/Sub-WS leaders accountable through tracking, managing dependencies, escalating issues, preparing WS team meetings, following up on actions, etc.
• Acts as a sounding board for WS leaders to ensure they are working towards the ultimate goal
• Brings capacity for ad hoc analysis in workstreams to support decision making / prioritisation / etc.
• Coaches WS team members on project-based working and focus on value creation
• Initiates appropriate financial analysis of defined workstream deliverables and supports the preparation of business cases
• Works closely with BU management, the business and the Site Head Visp to prepare bi-weekly review meetings and monthly BU updates, focusing on action-oriented process updates and decision escalation, in addition to ensuring fact-based reporting of progress and impact achieved

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, post graduate qualification is a plus
• Fluent in German and English with exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Good business insight, economic and operational excellence knowledge
• In depth knowledge and experience of Operations or Engineering
• People management experience with proven track record of being a leader, motivator and engager of productive teams
• Strong ability to structure, pragmatically scope, and solve abstract and complex problems
• Naturally collaborative with a proven ability to partner and influence others at all levels of the organization
