Job Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Equipment Engineer is responsible for developing, commissioning and supporting manufacturing equipment at the production facility. This hands-on role requires technical leadership and collaboration with other production teams, including root cause analysis and technician training. The Equipment Engineer will also be able to work autonomously, identifying new projects and proactively addressing potential issues.
The role will require a proven background in both mechanical and electronic engineering, with a strong emphasis in equipment automation and troubleshooting. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of communication protocols (OPC, SECS/GEM, Modbus), programing (C#, C++, PLC, VB.Net) and an understanding of SQL and MES systems.
Responsibilities:
- Support qualification of new packages, giving direction and input on equipment capability and developing solutions to take the equipment into full manufacturing
- Identify and implement solutions in the current packaging process to improve OEE
- Be able to carry out advanced data analysis
- Be capable of writing software for technical solutions in the manufacturing environment
- Be able to work on own initiative and give clear direction on innovative solutions and be a participating team player as required
- Lead and participate in investigations and root cause analysis
- Identify and propose capital investment projects to improve operations or enhance production capabilities
- Minimal (<10%) travel to local and/or foreign subcontract facilities to support package development activities
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronic, Mechanical or Electronic engineering
- At least 5 years’ experience in assembly / semiconductor engineering, or related field, with strong equipment or automation engineering background
- Good verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing and OEE
- Familiar with SECS/GEM, OPC
- Proficient with PLC programming (Studio 5000, Automation Direct, Twin CAT), SCADA, HMI design
Preferred Experience:
- Master Degree in Mechatronic, Mechanical or Electronic engineering
- 7 years’ experience in PLC programing and HMI design
- Software programming qualification (C#, C++, VB.Net)
- Familiar with SAP, AutoCAD, 5 Whys, 8D
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

The starting salary range corresponding to the role is as follows:
$91,000.00 - $135,000.00 USD Annual
Final selected candidate will be hired at the level commiserate with their education/skills/work experience and tenure.
