Solera Tax Provision and Direct Tax Director

The Role:
As the Solera Tax Provision and Direct Tax Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success and compliance of our organization. You will have the exciting opportunity to oversee and lead the entire (Federal, State, and International) quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740, as well as responsible for the overall Direct Tax function, directly reporting to the VP Tax. Your expertise and guidance will have a direct impact on our financial reporting accuracy and help shape our tax strategies.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and review the consolidated quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740, including the worldwide effective tax rate, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, and tax footnote.
- Prepare quarterly tax provision memoranda.
- Maintain SOX control documentation and processes, coordinating with outside service providers and external auditors.
- Ensure proper purchase accounting and compliance reporting of M&A transactions by working across Solera Tax.
- Identify and support the implementation of process improvements.
- Oversee, coordinate, and prepare the global interim and year-end tax provision.
- Prepare and review tax account reconciliation as needed.
- Gather data and prepare schedules for tax and financial statement auditors.
- Manage and coordinate the data gathering and schedule preparation.
- Conduct tax research.
- Lead the overall Direct Tax function.
- Assist with other projects as necessary.
What You'll Bring:
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required; MBA, CPA, or advanced degree preferred.
- Eight to twelve years of relevant tax accounting experience in public accounting or large multinational company.
- Technical knowledge of income tax accounting standards and application of ASC 740.
- Experience with public company financial statement audits.
- Familiarity with One Source Tax Provision or other comparable resources.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Positive attitude, good work ethic, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Five to eight years' supervisory experience.
