Aon Insurance Managers (AIM) in Guernsey is seeking to recruiter and Insurance Technician / Administrator to join their growing team.

 

The role will entail day-to-day insurance administration and assistance with underwriting and claims functions of a range of insurance licensed vehicles, predominantly focused on captive and Insurance Linked Security “ILS” clients, to ensure that office and client business strategies, plans and insurance programmes and claims are administered effectively. The role will be varied, and the successful candidate will gain invaluable re/insurance and expertise which will allow for excellent career progression in the industry.

 

This area of the business is a very significant area for Aon, and we would like to take on a new insurance administrator to help support the existing team.

 

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Guernsey office

What the day will look like

  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of captive clients, undertaking underwriting and claims reviews and recording. This will involve working closely with the Insurance Managers and assisting them as and when necessary, the aim of which is to always deliver an outstanding standard of client service
  • Assist with the maintenance of an insurance management system including but not limited to inputting data from insurance/reinsurance contracts, extracting usable information and manipulating data for the benefit of our clients. This also includes uploading documents onto Aon’s secure online intranet portal
  • Reviewing and statistically analysing premiums and monthly claims bordereaux and other loss information received from reinsurance brokers
  • Contract wording reviews for new and renewed business
  • Assist with preparation of Committee and Board packs
  • Ensure that all Aon and client deadlines in respect of insurance administration, underwriting and claims are met, within the requisite procedures and practices and to the agreed service levels
  • Working closely with the finance team to ensure premium aged debtor reports are up to date and accurate to allow efficient month end reporting
  • Corresponding professionally with external parties such as clients, brokers, lawyers, actuaries, banks, investment managers and cedant insurance and reinsurance companies
  • Assist with queries from auditors during the year end audit process
  • Follow the office procedures manual and company specific procedure manuals

Skills and experience that will lead to success

 

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required
  • Dedication to continuous personal development
  • Willingness to commit to deliver excellent client service
  • On-the-job training will be provided and any studies towards CII qualifications will be supported.
