360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
Operating as an integrated ecosystem, the 360 Lab environment will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing and learning experiences in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. Together, these efforts will serve to increase the speed, enhance the robustness and improve the sustainability of our exploratory research and early discovery activities.
The Opportunity
The Proteomics & Metabolomics Core Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to add to its team an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric lab-based scientific professional, with a focus on mid- and high-plex protein assays (e.g. Alamar, Olink, Somalogic, targeted MS) applied to drug discovery projects. The successful candidate will have a robust background in the life sciences as well as proven technical and scientific proficiency in developing and using scalable protein assays to generate scientific insights. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, interacting with experts from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to advance drug discovery projects, and will participate in the continued evolution of the Proteomics & Metabolomics Core Technology Platform within the pRED organization.
Your Role and Responsibilities

Routinely plan, design and execute hands-on mid- and high-plex protein assays, using MS-based and non-MS based methods for the investigation of disease biology, model system characterisation and the identification of targets and drug mechanism of action;

Apply scientific rigor to ensure high-quality FAIR data generation, collaborate with other laboratory and bioinformatics teams to analyze and interpret MS- and non-MS-based protein assay data, be accountable for the timely generation of comprehensive project reports, and engage with stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner;

Embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies/ approaches in the proteomics field;

Act as an ambassador and technical expert for outsourced activities covering both experimental study design and analytical frameworks.
Your Profile

You have a PhD degree in Biochemistry or related field, with 3-5 years of research experience, preferably within either the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry;

You are a skilled experimentalist with the aptitude to design complex studies using mid- and high plex protein assays (MS- and non-MS-based) with deep experience in lab automation and assay validation.

You have exceptional competency in the processing, analysis and interpretation of both MS- and non-MS-based datastreams.
