Within the area of High Voltage Products you will be responsible for material compliance of electrical power grid products like High Voltage Switchgear, Power Quality Products, Insulation Components for power products, as well as Control and Monitoring solutions. Join our team.
How you will make an impact

Monitor and assess regulations and standards relevant to our product portfolios sustainability and compliance.

Prepare technical documents linking product information with material compliance relevance for request for information from government regulators

Utilize your material and chemistry background and contribute to material compliance related customer discussions, and impacts on the R&D, quality processes.

Lead projects and activities within Hitachi Energy addressing material compliance and sustainability of the product portfolio.

Drive continuous improvement processes including audit and oversight mechanisms related to materials selection, testing, sustainability, and compliance.

Create and maintain the appropriate internal guidelines, processes and policies for product qualification, testing, sustainability, and compliance.

Close collaboration with scientists and engineers from Hitachi Energy research, development centres and external laboratories and service providers around the world in material selection, specification and qualification.

Close collaboration with the supply chain teams organising supplier compliance information.

Interface with procurement and quality engineers to support supplier selection and qualification.

Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to develop processes documentation and workflow on material compliance.

Participate in external meetings to engage on key compliance topics
Your background
-
Master’s degree or equivalent degree (university of applied science/university) in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or closely related subject

Extensive experience working with global regulations including REACH, RoHS, EU WFD, TSCA, Conflict Minerals

Working knowledge on the material used in the high-voltage switchgear is a must
-
Has extensive experience implementing global material compliance processes in interdisciplinary settings

Working knowledge in project management is an asset

Proven track record as a team player with excellent communication skills in a global multinational company with a matrix organization.

Has proven experience to conduct chemical and compliance trainings to large audiences

Deep understanding of supply change management and basics of master data management in high voltage applications to effectively work in a multifunctional team is a must.

Fluency in English, basic German skills, or willingness to learn German.

Willingness to travel (5-10%)
