Infrastructure Engineer Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join EPAM and support our client from the financial services area in their office in Zurich.

This role includes the engineering, operation, maintenance, lifecycle and troubleshooting of the physical infrastructure (network, storage, servers, computers) and the virtual environment based on VMware. You will be responsible for the smooth operation of the eDiscovery Investigation Environment to run special eDiscovery applications and supporting investigations.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure new infrastructure to support web application as well as upgrades of existing infrastructure
• Support projects and deliver on schedule whilst always maintaining quality controls
• Analyze incidents and outages and implement preventative measures to prevent reoccurrence
• Maintain a knowledge database
• Leverage automation and development technologies to execute operational stability and maintenance tasks

Requirements

• Strong experience in Windows/Active Directory engineering/support in a comparable role
• Working knowledge with SQL (MS SQL), Virtualization (VMware) or Storage (NetApp)
• Good Troubleshooting skills (Root Cause Analysis, Problem Management)
• Experienced in automation skills (e.g PowerShell Scripting or Microsoft SCCM/MECM)
• Basic networking knowledge (Routing, VLAN, DNS)
• Proficient communication skills in English are a must, while knowledge of the German language is a significant advantage
