Discover Impactful Work:
As a Clinical Epidemiologist, you will be a key member of the CorEvitas Epidemiology team, providing strategic research leadership in consultation with clients and leading the development of research questions and study design for epidemiologic studies using observational data from our clinical registries.
Specifically, this role is to provide epidemiologic input when performing the following tasks while working with clients: 1) translate ideas into feasible and robust research studies addressable using CorEvitas registry data, 2) draft preliminary outlines of Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP) in collaboration with the Biostatistics group, 3) review and provide feedback on analytic reports prepared by the Biostatistics group, synthesizing results into meaningful summaries, and 4) develop messaging for research communications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts)
A day in the Life:
Your responsibilities will include:
• Consult, through weekly/monthly conference calls, with client teams and Key Opinion Leaders on research ideas and study designs that leverage CorEvitas registry data
• Serve as a thought leader for projects, which includes understanding the issues that impact clients, designing studies to address client needs, and crafting communication of research findings for clients’ desired audience, often in collaboration with CorEvitas Medical Writers
• Outline SAPs in collaboration with lead biostatisticians, review draft reports, and develop messaging and summarize findings for publications (e.g. abstracts, posters, podium presentations and manuscripts)
• Assist in oversight of client projects across observational data registries
• Develop original research ideas that are feasible and scientifically robust, and present them to clients so that a steady pipeline of active projects is maintained
• Maintain familiarity with and adhere to CorEvitas policies and procedures as they pertain to research development and publications
• Participate in and support internal company needs as directed by the Scientific Director of Epidemiology
• Represent CorEvitas at client meetings, professional meetings, symposia and trade shows
• Additional duties may be assigned, either temporary or permanent, based upon company needs
Keys to Success:
Education
• Doctorate (PhD, DSc, ScD, etc.) in epidemiology (preferred) or other advanced degree with equivalent experience will be considered
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of epidemiology research (e.g. design, execution, publication of research) in a health research, medical or pharma setting
• Experience advising on research design and analysis
• Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Completion of Human Subjects Protection (HSP) training (provided by CorEvitas)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Your key strengths include:
• Consultation and collaboration skills - these are critical to be an effective liaison to clients and Key Opinion Leaders
• Strong communication skills, including proficiency in scientific writing
• Ability to function efficiently within the Epidemiology and Biostatistics teams
• Expertise in observational research methodologies (experience in pharmacoepidemiology preferred)
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects working in a fast-paced environment and deliver on tight deadlines
