Automation Engineer (f/m/d)
Position Summary
The Automation / OT Engineer focuses on the operation and maintenance of automation and operational technology (OT) systems in biopharmaceutical production. The emphasis is on ensuring these systems are efficient, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards. This role also encompasses leading projects to further enhance system performance and process quality.
Main Accountabilities
- Operation and Maintenance: Ensure the efficient and compliant operation of automation and OT systems. Conduct regular maintenance to maximize uptime and minimize breakdowns.
- System Administration: Manage building management systems (BMS) such as Desigo and Honeywell. Perform administrative tasks to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Project Management: Lead automation and OT projects, from design through to commissioning and qualification, ensuring alignment with operational goals and compliance requirements.
- SOP Development and Optimization: Author, review, and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clarity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Deviation Investigation and CAPA Management: Lead investigations into system deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Expected Technical Competencies
- Technical and Design Expertise: Strong background in automation and OT, with specific skills in the administration of building management systems (Desigo, Honeywell).
- Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage automation and OT projects, ensuring coordination with stakeholders and adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent at identifying and resolving technical issues, both in hardware and software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of GMP, FDA, EMA, and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
Educational Background and professional expertise
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation and OT system operation and maintenance, with project management experience.
