The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting Arxada’s Safety Culture. Works safely with all activities to prevent injuries, process, distribution, and environmental incidents. Ensures our “Product Stewardship” initiative to ensure the health, safety, and environmental performance of our products throughout the products’ life cycle. Responsible for engineering support of the sites utility systems including troubleshooting, maintenance reliability, and optimization. Supports operations, engineering, and maintenance with technical expertise, equipment recommendations, engineering calculations and/or advice.
Essential Job Functions:
- Recommends process optimizations, automation opportunities, and safety enhancements
- Conducts PC based process modeling and executes equipment design calculations.
- Prepares process flow diagrams, as well as mass and energy balances.
- Develops and updates site P&IDs.
- Supports and manages capital improvement initiatives, (at times, in conjunction with Global Engineering):
- Evaluates and develops process improvement scopes and scope alternatives.
- Develops specifications for piping, equipment, and control instrumentation.
- Prepares capital cost estimates and evaluates project economics.
- Prepares purchase specifications and completes evaluations of vendor proposals.
- Develops and supports site sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or related field of study.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data in excel.
- Understanding of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of capital project development, execution, and field implementation.
- Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Proficiency with Process Design software (ChemCAD, AutoCAD, Pipenet, etc).
The expected salary range for this role is $86,400 - $105,600; specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
