We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Software Automation Engineer to join our Process Engineering team in Murten, Switzerland. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing and programming cutting-edge machinery for high-volume production. Your expertise will drive the development of PLC and test software, electrical and pneumatic system design and machine commissioning.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Design and modify software for automation and testing systems, this includes programming PLCs and LabVIEW testing software
- Plan and build control system hardware for automated machinery, including electrical and pneumatic schematics and material lists
- Document, maintain and archive software, including user manuals and error handling documentation to ensure seamless operation and troubleshooting
- Train operators, apprentices and technicians on machine usage and operation to build a skilled workforce
- Ensure the safe operation and design of machines, adhering to industry standards and best practices
- Drive machine improvement using the latest data analysis techniques and machine learning models
- Design and implement cost reduction and improvement measures to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs
Our requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar environment
- Good software knowledge (LabVIEW, PLCs, C# etc.)
- Experience in PLC programming for automated machinery
- Ability to design and maintain electrical schematics
- Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering
- Language skills: fluent in English AND fluent in German or French
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
