The Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) R&D User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer Specialist is responsible for creating attractive digital experiences using inventiveness for solving technical challenges to create something innovative and unique. As a UI/UX Designer Specialist, you are conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes of the product and iterate upon it to ensure a great user experience for the K-C Research & Development (R&D) capability area and in some cases, cross capability areas.
The role collaborates with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to understand the personas, business problem to be solved, business process, delivery access and presentation requirements, then provides the designs to frontend software engineers to turn the design into reality. This role is viewed as an expert in UI/UX software application and analytical reporting design, encompassing both business process understanding, technical expertise and advanced concepts in visualization and guided application and analytic design.
Other important aspects of the position:
- Leads in developing innovative, front-end wire-frames, prototypes and final designs for important, highly complex strategic and operating problems.
- Has strong knowledge in business and technical functions that are touch points with their area of expertise. Provides front-end UI/UX consulting on complex projects.
- Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for other team members. Is knowledgeable in industry best practices in their area of expertise and uses resources outside of K-C to deliver the front-end UI/UX designs.
Role will report to a Senior Manager in the DTS organization that supports the K-C R&D business function. Role will not have any direct reports. Key Interfaces: Product Owner, Business Analyst, Business Client, Solution Architects, Platform Architect, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Scrum Master. External Interfaces: Consultants and software vendors. Travel may include approximately 0-10% of work time.
Main responsibilities:

Lead and/or participate in the effort to define, prototype, and deliver the UI/UX design of R&D digital products and capabilities for applications and analytics.

Translate and deliver concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences.

Facilitate client’s product visions by researching, conceiving, wire framing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products.

Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions to solve them.

Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.

Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs.

Provide the front-end application and analytical reporting final UI design, including the detailed based on requirements from the business, global and regional views.

Deliver front-end solution designs including but not limited to user story, required measures, comparative analytics, visualization and guided analytical design. Provide detailed build estimates to the Solution Architect for front-end development.

Translate non-functional and functional requirements into front-end application and analytical solution designs, ensuring solution aligns with business goals and processes, uses and provides enterprise information consistently, integrates effectively with other applications, supports a common application environment and user interaction model.

Design user interfaces to be as simple as possible.

Collaborate with other Solution Architects and other designers to ensure the solution fits within enterprise context.

Work independently to understand business analytics requirements and translate them into UI prototypes and final UI solutions that provide optimal user experiences.
Key Qualifications and Experiences:

Bachelor's degree.
-
Fluent English for conversation in meetings and deal with English native-speakers
-
3-7 years of experience in software UI/UX design.

Experience with screen graphical interface prototyping/mock-ups.

Possess strong leadership skills and exhibit creative thinking to be able to come up with inventive solutions to solve business challenges.

Self-motivated to keep up with industry UI/UX trends, UI/UX design techniques, UI design software, and disseminating information across the organization.

Experience working with blended teams consisting of employees, vendors, and consultants with both onshore and offshore resources.

Experience collaborating with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and Software Engineers to identify, design, and implement UI/UX designs for application and analytics solutions.

Understanding of SDLC processes and methodologies.

Cultivates networking opportunities within the organization.

Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the K-C organization including suppliers, partners and customers.
