WEC Technical Delegate (Geneva - Switzerland)
Under the authority of the Circuit Sport Technical Manager and within the Technical and Safety Department, the WEC Technical Delegate is responsible for overseeing all technical matters related to the WEC Championship. The position-holder collaborates closely with the WEC Technical Coordinator, FIA Sporting Departments, the Technical Engineering Department, the Safety Departments, and the ACO partner to achieve the objectives set by the FIA Endurance Commission.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
- Conduct homologation activities for all WEC categories, including aerodynamic wind tunnel sessions, technical inspections, and bench measurements.
- Supervise and validate homologation documentation (base homologation and updates).
- Manage race duties, including the preparation of technical documents, supervising scrutineering and technical checks, liaising with other officials, writing technical reports, and elaborating event reports.
- Manage daily correspondence with competitors and manufacturers regarding all questions related to technical regulations.
- Centralize communication with the ACO Technical Department and the Promoter.
- Actively participate in the development and drafting of technical regulations, amendments, and proposals.
- Actively participate in the Technical Working Groups (TWG) and Sporting Working Groups (SWG).
- Coordinate technical areas, including:
- BoP (Balance of Performance) / Simulations / Performance
- Electronics
- Powertrain
To fulfill these responsibilities, the FIA WEC Technical Delegate will be required to attend all World Endurance Championship events.
PROFILE:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive knowledge of motorsport, particularly endurance categories
- 10 to 15 years of experience as a race engineer or technician
- Fluent in English (native level); proficiency in French is an advantage
- High cultural sensitivity in the context of motorsport
- Strong interest in new technologies (e.g., electrified vehicles, hydrogen)
- Solid understanding of sporting and technical regulations, as well as related topics
- Team player with excellent customer service skills
- Highly organized with strong communication abilities
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
- Discreet when working with suppliers and teams
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Available and willing to travel extensively.
