Your responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the banks’ payment department unit: Manage a team of approximately 20 professionals, focusing on growth, skill development, and maximizing their contributions to the bank's success
- Lead PAY stream in Avaloq: Oversee all production systems and testing activities related to payment processing, integrating these functions with wealth management services
- Manage payment systems and compliance: Hold primary responsibility for Swift, SIC, euroSIC, RMA, and sanction screening, coordinating technical aspects with IT and list-filtering with compliance
- Oversee daily payment operations: Manage the processing of all incoming and outgoing payments across Switzerland and international business units
- Primary escalation point: Serve as the main contact for CRM teams to resolve complex cases and address customer complaints
- Stay current on industry innovations: Continuously monitor developments in payment technology, including new standards and both national and international regulatory changes, implementing them as needed
- Represent the bank in industry groups: Act as the bank’s voice in various working groups and forums, ensuring alignment with industry standards
- Provide support to global entities: Advise and assist all international entities on payment processing issues and queries
- Develop policies and directives: Design and implement payment processing policies for the group and Swiss operations to standardize procedures
- Resolve complex cases: Step in for high-level case clarifications and complex customer complaints, ensuring efficient resolution
- Guide projects within the bank: Offer strategic guidance and expertise to support bank projects involving payment systems
Your profile:
- Successfully completed degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a comparable field
- At least 10 years of professional experience in payments, ideally in a leadership role within financial services
- Proven track record in developing and implementing global payment strategies and overseeing operational payment processes
- In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks in the payments industry (e.g., PSD2, FATF, SWIFT) and strong expertise in RMA and sanctions screening
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage an international team of approximately 20 professionals
- Extensive knowledge of innovative technologies and advancements in the payments field (e.g., API-based systems, blockchain, digital currencies) and experience managing Avaloq systems for payment streams
- Exceptional analytical skills and a strategic, solution-oriented mindset for identifying and implementing improvement opportunities
- Experience representing the bank in working groups and forums and providing advisory support to international entities on payment processing matters
- German is mandatory, fluent in English
