The Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society
The Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society (SGS) provides a stimulating, collegial, and interdisciplinary research environment. We value the diverse expertise of our faculty, which advances our understanding of business strategy and the social environment of business, while facilitating synergies and scientific collaborations with other departments at HEC Lausanne. Members of the Department regularly publish their research in leading outlets such as Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Organization Science, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, and Administrative Science quarterly.

Expected start of the position: February 1st, 2025 or upon agreement.
Contract duration: The initial contract is for 1 year. The contract is renewable 2x2 years (max. 5 years funding period)

Your responsibilities
- 50% of the assistant’s time will be dedicated to the completion of doctoral studies in Management.
- 50% of the assistant’s time will be dedicated to providing teaching, administrative, and research support for the supervisor.
Your qualifications
In order to expand our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills:
- Master’s in Management or equivalent.
- A strong interest in conducting research on one or more of the following topics: (1) the integration of sustainability in organizations’ strategies and practices, (2) individual and organizational competencies for sustainability and how to develop them through education/training, (3) design and implementation of sustainable business models.
- An openness to interdisciplinary approaches and a willingness to collaborate with researchers in other disciplines. An interdisciplinary background with a solid knowledge of Management and Economics is a plus.
- Fluent in English (C1 level or higher) with a working knowledge French (B1 level or higher).
- The selected candidate will have to apply and be accepted to the PhD program in Management at the University of Lausanne within the first year of employment.
