As a Senior Underwriting Assistant, a significant proportion of your responsibilities will be full underwriting support in nature and supporting the offshore data entry, processing, and aggregate teams. You will have the opportunity to expand and grow your capabilities within Enterprise Operations and Underwriting.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
· High level interaction and coordination with underwriting, as well as other functional areas such as, Accounting and Actuarial.
· Conduct preliminary analysis on all Inland submissions and perform account clearance based on underwriting information as needed.
· Search and create Google maps for the specified location(s).
· Formulate answers to questions, reviewing the risk file, and other documentation as needed; disseminate or explain information, take directions, and resolve issues.
· Familiarization and operation of the various facultative underwriting systems.
· Review facultative certificates, instruct the creation of the inward policy, ensure accurate bookings and approve payments as needed.
· Manage/prioritize the workflow of multiple tasks and maintain a detailed understanding of the status of various tasks.
· Assist underwriters with the issuance of binders, policies, and endorsements including invoicing of premium.
· Responsible for ensuring all documents are maintained in the electronic file and adhere to audit standards.
· Act as a mentor and provide training to less experienced Underwriting Assistants.
· Assist managers and underwriters in the preparation and distribution of information for various reports.
· Responsible for monitoring account receivables and assist accounting department with reconciliation.
· Demonstrate a proactive approach to suggest improvements for work processes.
· Participate in User Acceptance testing on system enhancements prior to deployment within the production environment as needed.
· Collaborate/champion in special projects and assignments, as assigned.
You will report to the Inland Marine- Team Lead.

Required Skills and Abilities:
· Bachelor's or equivalent work experience in property and/or inland marine coverages.
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word). Some Power Point helpful.
· Outstanding organization, prioritization, and time management skills, as well as outstanding customer service skills. Know your internal and external customers.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

The U.S. pay range for this position is $62,600 - $99,000. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience, and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
