Your role and responsibilities
Join ABB’s Process Automation Business Area in the Process Industries Division and be part of a team that drives innovation and excellence across diverse industries such as Pulp and Paper, Mining, Metals, Food and Beverage, Hydrogen, Data Centers, and Cement. At ABB, you will have the opportunity to work on key strategic initiatives in exciting areas such as energy transition, digital, process automation, and service. Our international and diverse environment, with colleagues in more than 40 countries across the globe, ensures that you can grow both personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact on the world.Work closely with Process Industries’ division and seven business lines at a global level to align and prioritize their strategic analysis initiatives considering the overall strategic goals of the division. These initiatives will relate to our division’s strategic focus areas including digital, sustainability, automation, service, among others. Key responsibilities:- Support division and cross division strategic analysis and initiatives to secure continuous and profitable growth for ABB, collaborating and guiding business leaders in development of market models or competitive analysis; identification of market trends and new business opportunities; evaluation of business performance; among others.- Own cross business line’s relevant strategic data analytics and align with the different businesses and functions to build meaningful division dashboards, analysis, action plans and high impact reports for the division - Collaborate with business line leaders and teams in development of M&A and partnership pipeline, company profiles of potential targets, and deal thesis for acquisitions, JVs, divestments and partnerships.- Play an active role on commercial due diligence processes, including preparation of presentation materials for internal stakeholders, from initial assessment to due diligence, negotiations, pre-closing, integration preparations, covering various transaction types such as acquisitions, divestments, and JVs.
Qualifications for the role
- In this role, you will be responsible for driving business strategy initiatives and providing strategic recommendations. To be successful, you should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in business strategy, ideally with exposure to industries such as Mining, Pulp & Paper, Metals, Hydrogen, Food & Beverage, Cement, Data Center, or similar fields. Experience in areas such as Process Automation, Sustainability, Service, and/or Digital is also desirable.
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI is essential. You should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed strategic recommendations. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are crucial, as you will need to work collaboratively across all organizational levels. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required for this position.
