Data Technical Lead
Position Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Data Lead to join our team. Working on Big Data environments and projects such as Global Data Lake, and including our focus on Sustainable Estimatics offerings.

As a Technical Data Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the technical aspects of data-related initiatives within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance and support to the data team, ensuring the successful implementation of data projects and initiatives.
One of the key responsibilities of this role is to provide technical guidance and mentorship to the data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. You will conduct regular data audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes. Additionally, you will stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data management and analytics, evaluating their potential impact on our organization.
To succeed in this role, you should have strong technical expertise in data management, analytics, and programming. You should have hands-on experience on developing and maintain scalable and efficient data processing pipelines, leveraging Cloudera and Spark technologies, among others, and implementing global APIs. Your leadership and communication skills will be crucial in collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You should also have a deep understanding of data governance processes, data standards, and best practices.

What You'll Do
- Leading the technical aspects of data projects, including data integration, data transformation, and data modeling.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining data systems and infrastructure to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Develop and maintain scalable and efficient data processing pipelines using Cloudera and Spark technologies among others to handle large volumes of data from diverse sources.
- Develop and maintain scalable API solutions to provide data to both: external and internal customers
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Overseeing the implementation of data analytics tools and technologies, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to the data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Conducting regular data audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data management and analytics, evaluating their potential impact on the organization.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on data-related topics, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress and performance of data projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Participate in agile development practices, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration and deployment, to ensure high-quality software delivery.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of technical expertise in data management, analytics, and programming.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in leading and managing data projects, including data integration, transformation, and modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of data systems and infrastructure, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient solutions.
- Proven experience with data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, or other relevant programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Cloudera distribution and related tools like HDFS, Hive, Impala, and HBase or similar technical stack.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of data governance processes, data standards, and best practices.
- Leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in providing technical guidance and mentorship to a data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
