Position Summary
The Global Product Marketing Director - Digital Solutions is a strategic leadership role responsible for leading the product marketing and go-to-market strategy of Straumann digital solutions – a diverse portfolio comprising digital devices, clinical software, patient-specific design services and integrated digital dentistry workflows. This position will play a key role in driving the next generation of Straumann digital solutions, supporting the long-term strategic aspirations of the fast-growing CCS business. The Global Product Marketing Director - Digital Solutions will lead a team of product marketing managers whose mission is to drive commercialization of Straumann digital solutions by developing go to market strategy, business models, value propositions and marketing plans for the different customer segments, across the entire CCS portfolio of products, in support of Straumann’s digital business objectives. This position will drive collaboration cross-functionally with a team of experienced colleagues in product management, sales and marketing from several business units and regions in a fast moving, high growth, matrix organization.
This newly created position is global in scope, based in Basel, Switzerland, and requires significant presence in the countries with approximately 20-30% travel required.
Overview
The Global Product Marketing Director - Digital Solutions is a strategic leadership role responsible downstream product marketing activities within Straumann's digital solutions portfolio. This includes digital devices, clinical software, patient-specific design services, and integrated digital dentistry workflows. The Director will play a key role in driving the next generation of Straumann digital solutions, supporting the long-term strategic objectives of the fast-growing CCS business, and ensuring seamless product commercialization.
The Director will lead a team of product marketing managers tasked with product lifecycle management—covering everything from product go-to-market execution, and post-launch performance analysis. The role requires significant collaboration across departments and regions within a dynamic, high-growth, matrix organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a visionary product marketing strategy aligned with Straumann’s long-term business goals, integrating downstream product management activities
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performance team to drive the successful commercialization of digital solutions across the CCS portfolio
- Lead go-to-market strategies targeting different segments (General Practitioners, Specialists, DSOs, Universities), ensuring alignment with downstream commercialization efforts
- Oversee the downstream product lifecycle, including post-launch activities such as performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and adaptation based on customer feedback and market demands
- Collaborate closely with all relevant parties to refine marketing campaigns, sales strategies, and customer engagement based on real-time product performance and customer usage data
- Design and execute marketing campaigns, value propositions, and sales enablement tools that resonate with key stakeholders and enhance product-market fit
- Drive product marketing initiatives using data and analytics, identifying market opportunities and measuring success through defined KPIs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with upstream product management, sales, R&D, and global subsidiaries to ensure smooth product launches and ongoing commercialization success
- Develop metrics and KPIs to track the success of both new and existing products, adjusting downstream marketing strategies to enhance customer value delivery and align with market trends
- Maintain deep knowledge of market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies, ensuring that downstream marketing strategies stay competitive and relevant
- Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring seamless collaboration with upstream product management and CTO teams to inform product innovation and downstream success
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, engineering, or business
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud-based architectures within technical domains such as Analytics, Developer Tools, Compute, Databases, Generative AI, or Security
- Experience working with SaaS or platform-based solutions; experience in digital dentistry or medical devices is highly advantageous
- Minimum 7 years of proven success in product management, with 5+ years in downstream product management or marketing in the medical device or dental industry being a strong plus
- Prior experience in technical product marketing or product management, with an emphasis on product lifecycle management and downstream activities
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of team development and people management
- Extensive experience in leading complex product launches and managing post-launch performance
- Fluent in English; other languages are an asset
- Willingness to travel up to 20-30%
