About the role:
The primary objective of the Manager, Rebate and Chargeback Operatons role is to administer the contractual obligations, including validation, adjudication, and administration, of all payment requirements for Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease Business Unit Customers including but not limited to Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO), Managed Care Payers, State Medicaid and other Federal government purchasers and programs. The process includes the review and understanding of contract terms, verification of a customer’s eligible members and plans, claim utilization, formulary validation, identifying issues, performing dispute resolution, and processing and reconciliation of payments and chargebacks. Other functional responsibilities include reporting and analysis, vendor code set up support, confirmation for accrual support, program payment leakage identification and other adhoc analyses.
The Manager role will require interactions throughout the organization including Accounting, IT, National Accounts Team, Organized Customer Group, Market Access Team, Global Finance Services Controls & Compliance, and Accounts Payable. Additionally, this role will work closely with external vendors that support the rebate and chargeback functionality of Alexion.
You will be responsible for:

Ensure timely and accurate processing of claims and validations for all Commercial, Medicare and State Medicaid monthly/quarterly rebates.

Manage all chargeback activities including contract pricing, validation and reporting across various COTs, such as GPOs, 340B, and VA/FSS.

Provide monthly/quarterly trends, variance and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators.

Respond to inquiries regarding contract compliance issues and related calculations.

Work with account team(s) and customers to verify compliance and resolve disputes.

Build and maintain policies, procedures, and standards in support of all Federal and State requirements, internal/external financial reporting processes, government regulations and stay abreast of Federal and State rules, guidance and potential legislative changes.

Monthly/Quarterly Reporting on all payment activity for GPO, Commercial and Government payments and other ad hoc reporting as requested.

Work with third party vendor to review, verify, validate, dispute, and track State Medicaid claims submissions as well as Federal programs including Tricare and Coverage Gap rebates.

Partner with the GFS Team to ensure accurate and timely vendor code setup/revisions for timely payments.

Assist with additional rebate and chargeback projects.

Function as a subject matter expert on data validation, verification of contract compliance, master data and rebate and chargeback processing.

You will need to have:

Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 8 years Life Sciences Management in pharmaceutical/biotech experience required.

Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience within Finance or Market Access with experience in Medicaid, commercial rebate and/or chargeback validation, processing, and payments in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment

Good understanding of Managed Care and State Medicaid rebate processing, as well as being familiar with 340B, specific state issues and VA Health Care Act/pricing and operations.

Effective management of large datasets, leading peak cycle workloads and contract administration.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task various types of payments timely while ensuring accuracy.

Successfully collaborates with cross-functional business partners on contracts and dispute resolution while also having the ability to communicate across multiple functional levels.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers including third party vendors.

Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint required; SAP preferred

Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry with knowledge around Commercial Contracting and Government Price reporting preferred.

Good working knowledge of various Contracting and Rebate payment systems preferred.
