This is what you will do:
Are you a passionate scientific expert ready to make a difference in the lives of patients? As a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Alexion, you'll be at the forefront of advancing medical and scientific knowledge, supporting the lifecycle of our pioneering therapies. Your role will be vital in building collaborative relationships with Key Medical Experts (KMEs) and facilitating partnerships that improve patient care and drive innovation.
Your Impact:
- Build Strong Collaborations: Develop peer-to-peer relationships with KMEs in Hematology, Nephrology, and related fields. Identify and execute on opportunities for research, publications, advisory boards, and education programs.
- Be a Trusted Resource: Serve as a scientific expert, providing relevant, up-to-date information to healthcare providers to support clinical decisions.
- Support Research and Education: Drive scientific initiatives by championing research proposals and supporting the implementation of clinical studies. Deliver impactful presentations and gather valuable insights from experts.
- Facilitate Strategic Insights: Share expert feedback and trends with Alexion’s Medical Affairs teams, helping shape strategies that improve patient care.
- Maintain Compliance: Ensure all scientific and medical activities follow regulatory guidelines.
- Engage at Conferences: Attend national and international meetings to build relationships, stay informed, and share knowledge.
What You’ll Bring:
- Advanced Expertise: PharmD, MD, or PhD in biological sciences, with experience presenting scientific data to diverse audiences.
- Relationship Builder: Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships in the healthcare industry.
- Clear Communicator: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present sophisticated information in a clear, concise manner.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to a cross-functional team.
- Organized and Focused: Strong time management and organizational skills to manage a fast-paced, field-based role.
- Travel Ready: Willingness to travel regularly within your region and attend some weekend events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Therapeutic Area Expertise: Experience in biologics or therapies for rare diseases is highly valuable.
- Industry Knowledge: 5+ years of experience in the industry or as an MSL, with a well-established network of experts.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $124,000-$170,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).
