The Role

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the operational management of the Export Warehouse Switzerland (CDC), including both inbound and outbound logistics, as well as packaging. The role involves leadership and development of all employees in the relevant areas. Focused on the continuous improvement and standardization of all Warehouses (WHO) processes and workflows while adhering to customer and country requirements. The role involves close collaboration with various functions within the Straumann Group to deliver excellent service across all aspects of the logistics chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operation of the Basel warehouse, including inbound and outbound logistics, while ensuring exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Implement and maintain cutting-edge automation systems (Shuttle, AS/RS, Conveyors, etc.) to enhance efficiency and accuracy in logistics operations.
  • Develop and execute technological innovation strategies, remaining at the forefront of emerging solutions and trends in automation and logistics.
  • Manage multicultural teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment within a rapidly expanding operational scope.
  • Manage relationships with external partners and consultants, including onboarding, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and ensuring alignment with project goals and organizational standards.
  • Oversee budget planning, cost control, and investment strategies to ensure the financial sustainability of warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations during internal and external audits.
  • Optimize workflows and logistics processes, ensuring alignment with global best practices.
  • Actively participate in strategic global projects, contributing to the design and implementation of innovative solutions for Straumann’s warehouse network.

Requirements Needed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate degree in logistics or applied technologies is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing high-tech, automated warehouses with a focus on advanced automation systems.
  • Proven track record in leading multicultural teams in a high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing technological projects and managing organizational change processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of tools such as SAP, WMS, TMS and other digital logistics management systems.
  • Fluent in English & German; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese) are advantageous.

Additional Information

  • Travel Requirement: 30% (regional and global as needed).
  • This position is a hybrid role, based in Basel.
