For the Food & Nutrition department at the location in Zurich in our IMCD Food & Nutrition Applications Lab we are looking for an immediately or by arrangement:
About the position:
The Applications Technologist & Quality Support will play a crucial role in IMCD’s ambition to become more technically insights driven and market/consumer trends/customer focused.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Technical Support & Solution Development: Provide technical support to the sales team and customers by developing formulation solutions, application samples, and technical documentation. Support customer visits and hands-on lab work to drive product development
- Documentation & Quality: Prepare supplier & raw material questionnaires and process customer inquiries while ensuring quality-related issues are resolved
- Project Management: Build, prioritize, and manage key projects using technical formulation and CRM tools to maintain a pipeline that drives strategic growth
- Knowledge Sharing & Expertise: Collaborate with the global technical team, share best practices, and develop expertise in key ingredients, formulation processes, and local market trends
- Training & Seminars: Organize technical training for sales teams and support customer seminars to showcase applications and innovations
- Concept Promotion & Innovation: Lead proactive concept promotions, aligning with market trends, supplier initiatives, and principal opportunities
Your competencies and qualities:
- Master’s degree in food technology or a related field
- Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
- Proven track record in a technical role within a B2B environment
- Experience with food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
- In-depth knowledge of food ingredient markets, key applications (recipes and processes) and production processes
- A solution-oriented mindset with ability to approach challenges with a consultative, problem-solving attitude
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams to maximize capabilities and drive results
- Fluent in English and German
