Operations Manager - Transformer Bushings Factory MICAFIL (f/m/d)


Our local product group Insulation & Components is the technology leader in design and manufacture of high voltage transformer bushings. All renowned international companies of the electrical industry, active in power generation, transmission and distribution are among our customers. We have a top position in the high voltage bushing areas worldwide.

In this highly responsible and dynamic role, you will lead our bushing production unit with around 80 employees and ensure that we further strengthen our competitiveness and develop our Swiss branch to meet the global market growth in the field of energy. Your responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and improve Health & Safety culture

  • Manage our Bushing Production Unit with several teams and production lines, i.e. Winding, Casting, Machining, High Voltage Testing, process engineering and final assembly, working in multiple shifts

  • Active member of the local management team, participate in defining and implementing our business plan

  • Act as a motivator and leader to successfully implement change, continuously improve processes and further develop the people and organization

  • Ensure execution of order output at the required quality & speed, and with a minimum of waste

  • Reduce and optimize manufacturing through put time to the maximum possible to meet output & revenue targets

Your background

  • Engineering degree or min. technical educational background, with further education in management

  • Several years of experience in managing successfully manufacturing units for high quality products, combined with a hands-on leadership track record

  • Lean expertise, ability to drive and implement change in a manufacturing environment

  • Technical expertise in the area of winding, resin casting, silicone injection molding and high voltage testing would be an asset

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to lead in an inter-cultural and diverse environment

  • Fluent in German and English
