Job Description

Here, you'll build a career grounded in purpose and be empowered to deliver your best. Join Takeda Oncology as a Senior Manager, Oncology Brand Communications out of our Cambridge, MA office. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing strategic communications for brands within the global oncology business unit (GOBU) at Takeda. You will also be responsible for serving as the communications partner to global and U.S. cross-functional teams, providing strategic communications counsel and overseeing the development and execution of communication plans including content development, media relations, thought leadership, investor relations support, congress support and digital/social tactics. You will also work closely with the brand communications lead, US and global brand teams, R&D communications, country communicators and others.
How you will contribute:
- Develop internal and external communications strategies for oncology brands
- Lead communications efforts for data and regulatory milestones, including scenario planning, media approach and strategy
- Key lead and supporter of communications strategy for the oncology business unit at major medical meetings and link to the Global Medical Affairs Publications and Communications teams as well as R&D Communications
- Lead crisis and issues management and media response strategy and messaging
- Play integral role on global and US brand teams, representing the communications function and providing strategic support
- Advise business leaders on corporate communications strategies and tactics and oversee the creation of executive level communications
- Partner with Investor Relations to support IR events / inquiries and quarterly earnings
- Manage public relations agency partner and oversee communications budget for brands
- Opportunity to manage GOBU communications interns
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Oncology experience highly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience working in Corporate Communications and/or Public
Relations preferred - Experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical company and/or at an agency is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills, personal organization and integrity
- Ability to travel for planned events (medical congresses, brand meetings, etc.) in Europe, Asia and in the U.S.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
133,000.00 - 209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
