Hochalpines Institut Ftan

Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Hochalpines Institut Ftan (HIF) is more than a school – it is an experience. At HIF, students are empowered to shape their own futures. We offer a range of educational programmes, including the Swiss Matura, the “HIF International Diploma,” and our elite HIF Sports Academy. Our global, co-educational community welcomes students from Grades 7–12, fostering multilingualism, leadership skills, and global networking, while preparing students to navigate a connected world. Well-being is woven into every aspect of life at HIF, from the pristine alpine environment to a dedicated curriculum that nurtures resilience and balance. Through hands-on exploration, experiential learning, and a deep respect for nature, HIF shapes independent, forward-thinking global citizens who are ready to succeed, realise their potential, and make a difference. At the same time, our school with its successful sports class is also an official Swiss-Ski accredited training centre for regional sports promotion (RLZ) for the disciplines of Alpine skiing, snowboard freestyle, cross-country skiing and biathlon. Of course, ice hockey plays an equally important role at the HIF Sports Academy, which has been in existence for over 30 years and is one of the most successful sports schools in Switzerland.
