In many areas the "eat or die" mentality prevails. They put a gun on your chest when you're not spinning. A lot is expected, but the framework conditions for this are not in place. Obsolete systems, bad workflows, employees in positions they have no idea about, executives without any technical know-how let alone social leadership intelligence. The good employees have all gone and the successors are not worth their money.
