This works well in the company
The vast majority of employees are competent and actually intrinsically motivated. The potential would be enormous if only management were in keeping with the times. But those who can, leave this unhealthy environment.
This could be improved
Disastrous management in WM Switzerland. All they care about is their own bonus and "managing" any statistics (KPIs) for it. For client advisors extreme employment and bureaucracy internally. Micro-management without end. Less and less time for customers. Authoritarian management style from the very top. Conformist and opportunistic middle management. Pilot projects always have to be a success, otherwise the boss's boss won't think anything good of him/her. Employees are burnt out. On paper, critical thinking encourages "challenge", but anyone who does so and criticizes something or makes suggestions for improvement must expect all kinds of reprisals, up to and including dismissal. Increasing customer dissatisfaction due to constant price increases and service reductions.

This works well in the company
If you can find it, it has some very competent employees.
This could be improved
All circumstances are extremely dependent on individual supervisors, who change approximately every year. Expensive staff is bought, while more competent, loyal staff is strongly neglected.

Job description????

A company that publishes job advertisements without any description, completely empty, doesn't seem particularly serious to me in any way...

As soon as you think for yourself and have a different opinion, the relationship between you and your superior changes in an extremely unprofessional way.

Chaos pur

Offices are very nice and in an extremely good location (at least the corporate/ inhouse business). The people are very nice and relaxed for bankers as you know it. However, as I come from the HR environment and had 3 interviews with 5 different contact persons who had asked me the same questions over and over again, I didn't get the impression that there was a lot of structure and communication. That's not a good sign.

Like being in a military

Extremely negativ experience. Like being in a military. You are supposed to execute every command, even if you disagree. If you dare to say that you disagree, be ready to face negative consequences.

Shortly before the crash
11 June 2018June 2018
UBS Asset Management is on the verge of crashing: no new ideas, totally outdated processes, you can't get anywhere without a buddy network, everyone is afraid of the next job-cut round. Too bad what's being destroyed that used to work out fine.
