BASF Intertrade AG is active in the trading of petroleum, petrochemical and related products. As the global trading organization of the BASF Group, the company is a major player in the global raw materials markets.
Responsibilities:
Derivatives Operations
- Enable the correct and prompt import of derivative deals into the trading system
- Ensure timely confirmation of derivative transactions with internal and external counterparties
- Perform derivative settlements as well as offsetting of future transactions
- Create and manage invoices with OTC counterparties and BASF group companies
- Act as interface function to back offices of counterparties (operative level)
- Handle daily regulatory reporting according to relevant financial market regulations
- Support Trading in derivative and physical transactions
Derivatives Controlling
- Provide stakeholders with timely and accurate information on derivative transactions, including result reporting, risk metrics and trading fees
- Perform daily derivative reports for BASF group’s hedging programs, including deal evaluation, value-at-risk assessments and financial reporting requirements
- Support Finance in correct accounting of derivative related transactions
- Act as operative contact for internal/external auditors for derivative processes
- Support business controlling processes and improvement of derivatives processes
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as business administration, finance/accounting or commodity trading
- At least 2 years work experience in Derivatives Operations / Controlling functions of a trading or banking company with advanced knowledge about derivatives evaluation and accounting, procurement business processes and hedging operations
- Knowledge and work experience regarding financial market regulations is a plus
- Strong analytical thinking and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills
- Fluent English in written and spoken; knowledge of the German language is a plus
- Team-oriented, resilient and agile mindset
