We are looking for a Value & Access Contracting Partner to join us in our Market Access & Pricing team based out of one of our local offices in Atlanta, Raleigh or Boston
About the role
The Value & Access Contracting Partner will support UCB’s Market Access and Pricing (MAP) contracting processes for assigned accounts from initiation to execution, including drafting/redlining contracts according to approvals for Commercial Payer, Service Agreements and Trade.
Who you’ll work with
This role will collaborate with multiple functions including Market Access Account Management, Contracts & Pricing team, Market Access Strategy, Pricing Committee, Legal, Compliance and outside vendors to effectively execute key contract management activities.
What you’ll do
- Manage the process for contract development regarding initiation and amendments for timely renewal of assigned accounts. The responsibility includes drafting language for offers, base agreements, and amendments.
- Ensure contract terms, conditions and discounts comply with approved proposal business case, term sheets/bids, and guidelines.
- Conduct contract risk assessment analysis of contract terms for terms that could negatively impact the financial profitability and performance of a contract (i.e. tier placement, etc.) and provides summary and recommended course of action to internal stakeholders.
- Analyze and make decisions regarding complex contracting proposals ensuring validity of proposal to Pricing Committee Policy and other organizational compliance guidelines.
- Appraise and communicate proactively on progress on contracts during negotiation process to internal stakeholders.
- Communicate directly with Market Access Leadership, Account Managers and Area Directors to review and align on contract terms.
- Build customer and stakeholder relationships during the contracting process by ensuring prompt response and follow-up in completion of contract development both internally and externally.
- Management of contract execution process, including filing of contracts, tracking documentation, and ensuring policies are followed for document retention and destruction within policy guidelines.
- Collaborate regularly with partners from reimbursement and operations teams to address contracting terms, as well as ensure consistency and contract compliance with respect to contract terms and conditions, formulary status, and rebate payments.
- Maintain knowledge of the business models, influence/impact, and decision drivers of U.S. commercial and government payers.
- Assist with internal audit requests.
- Assist with identifying and making recommendations to strengthen the contracting cycle and gain efficiencies.

- Bachelors Degree
- 5+ Years of experience with contract language and the business impact of terms and conditions changes within contracts
- 5+ Years of experience in contract redlining and management of contracting processes
- 5+ Years of experience in Managed Care contracting is highly preferred
This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $153,000-$179,000. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
