Pictured is the Hong Kong based BlackRock Dragonboat team who recently competed in the Stanley International Dragonboat championship against over 100 teams This season encompassed 13 practices and 3 competitions with one boat finishing as a Mixed Silver Cup finalist and another boat as a Mixed Bronze Bowl finalist . Dragonboat racing is a Chinese tradition where teams comprised of paddlers a drummer and a steersperson racing against each other in long narrow boats. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the BlackRock Dragonboat Team and team captain Tom Vice President APAC Wealth Platform shared It has been a fantastic season and amazing to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of BlackRock Dragonboat. As an integral part of Hong Kongs culture dragon boating has been pivotal in bringing colleagues together from across the firm to partake in this shared tradition and be a part of the One Blackrock Culture. I am so proud of the teams performance and very much looking forward to the next decade of thriving in the sport and building on the achievements of this season Bravo team#LifeAtBlackRock

Giving back is core to our culture year-round but each June and July our BlackRock Gives Back campaign challenges every employee to step away from their desk and into their community by volunteering with local nonprofits. This month our colleagues have racked up 7000 hours by preserving our local parks knitting baby blankets for new families repairing dog shelters with lots of cuddles and preparing over 12000 meals for people in need. One of our colleagues just broke the Guinness World Record for longest continuous hockey match. Meet Heather an Associate on our Legal and Compliance team based in Edinburgh. In an effort to raise funds for a new playing surface for her clubs field Heather and her hockey team took on the great challenge of beating the current world record for the longest-ever field hockey match. The current record was 56 hours so they aimed for 60 It was a grueling and challenging event but according to Heather one of the most rewarding and fun things they have ever been a part of. Each day they moved over 72000 steps and during the 60 hours they ran 143km. The sideways Scottish rain and wind did not deter them their spirits kept everyone going Congratulations to Heather and her team #LifeAtBlackRock
