Your Future Role
As a Project Configuration and Change Manager you will keep the project & program Configuration and Change Management under control during the whole project life cycle. You will plan, integrate, develop, drive and monitor the application of the Configuration Management process and verify that the Change Management processes are properly applied, and CM principles are rigorously respected.
Your responsibilities:
- Create, align, maintain and release the Configuration Management Plan including the Change Management Setup (Change Boards, R&R, interfaces, Conditional Processes etc.) until the end of startup phase together with project core team and ensure that plans of other functions are harmonized with the CMP and checks and updates the CMP during whole Project Life Cycle (if necessary).
- Analyze, review and provide the compliance statement on CCM related requirements (customer, partner and internal). Create and maintain the Configuration Strategy and publish Configuration Baselines and Target Configurations (coherency checking, Baseline Release Notes).
- Verify and release components which will be considered as Configuration items (Traceable Items).
- Ensure Supplier Configuration Management incl. Change Management (CM) requirement negotiation.
- Monitor the CM process and Configuration Status including reporting (e.g. Configuration Status Accounting) & Manage Change Boards.
- Ensure the "end-to-end" traceability of every change request including assignment to Baseline and/or Target Configuration.
- Ensure completeness, correctness, clarity and timeline of Change Requests in cooperation with the change requestor from Preparation to Approval to Implementation and Closure.
- Measure & report CCM process performance and maturity (KPIs), additonally derivate and manage actions (PDCA).
- Ensure all functions involved in the Configuration Management process are up to date.
- Ensure the necessary Configuration and Change Management tools are in place including stakeholders.
- Ensure effective hand-over of CCM data and responsibilities at the end of key phases (Realization, then Product Introduction/ Service).
- Support to analyze, review, maintain CCM related risks and opportunities.
- Resolve and escalates any CCM related issues in the project / program to the Chief of Development or Project / Program Director and the respective supervisor of the CM function for resolution.
- Ensure that physical and functional CCM audits are performed & assess the training needs for all Project functions, which are involved in the process.
Your experience and qualifications:
- Profound understanding of Configuration & Change Management and how its related processes such as Requirements Management, Data Management and Document Control inter-relate with the Business Processes.
- Preferably 3-5 years of experience in Change and Configuration Management.
- Preferably trained to a recognized Configuration and Change Management standard.
- Demonstrates comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills and the ability to guide, influence and convince other without formal leadership.
- Systematic, rigorous and organized, able to sort out different matters in a short period of time.
- Preferable knowledge of railway products, systems and components.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Experience in working in an international environment.
- Fluent English language skills, German skills are well-regarded.
