VSHN empowers developers, SaaS providers, and businesses by automating and managing cloud and on-premises application workloads.
VSHN, pronounced like “vision,” is Switzerland's leading Managed Service Provider for enabling DevOps, cloud-native development, and agile IT operations. We empower software teams with self-service products like APPUiO and Application Catalog , alongside tailored solutions built on our Managed OpenShift and standardized building blocks leveraging GitOps, CI/CD, and VM-based services and various support and operations subscriptions. Our Application Marketplace bridges the gap between CSPs, ISVs, and Enterprises, providing cloud-native services and DevOps tools. Most of these services are provided as managed services by VSHN, ensuring applications are testable, deployable, scalable, and operable in any cloud or on-premise environment.
Your new role: DevOps Enablement Engineer
As a DevOps Enablement Engineer you’ll collaborate closely with our Solution Architects and the customer's developers to design and implement robust CI/CD strategies and Kubernetes based hosting environments tailored to their needs. To that end you’ll primarily leverage VSHN products like APPUiO, AppCat, Managed OpenShift, or our automated solution building blocks for AKS, EKS, and GKE.
Your role involves hands-on collaboration to understand requirements, engineer deployments and other needed services, and support applications running in production on Kubernetes. You’ll focus on building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, creating operations concepts and frameworks, and guiding developers through the transition to Kubernetes-based production environments.
As part of a growing team, your role will include project-based work in agile workflows, developer support, continuous improvement of deployed applications in collaboration with our customers, and alert handling and support as part of our 24/7 organization.
Responsibilities summarized
-
Design and develop: Collaborate with Solution Architects on requirements engineering and solution design.
-
Build and maintain services: Application deployments on Kubernetes, including CI/CD pipelines, metrics and alerting systems, recovery strategies, and integration of backend services.
-
Customer engagement: Assist developers with troubleshooting to resolve issues effectively.
-
Continuous improvement: Periodically review existing setups, suggest enhancements, and plan their implementation.
-
Quality and strategy: Standardize and automate components to improve reusability and profitability.
-
Daily operations: Support developers, handle alerts, debug issues, and create follow-up tasks to address root causes.
-
Mentorship: Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and foster a culture of learning and self-organization.
