We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join Strategy and Operations (S&O), a unit within Small Molecule Research (SMR) in the Therapeutic Modalities global function, where the portfolio management, external collaborations and business operations including small molecule library strategy is of primary focus.
The opportunity
In the Compound Library Enhancement and Logistics (CLEL) team, we are offering an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Associate to work within a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to deliver high quality and time-critical research samples to drug discovery projects.
Our future team member will be an essential contributor for the production of assay plates used in all small molecule lead optimization cycles, by leveraging cutting-edge data and liquid dispensing technology as well as advanced orchestrated laboratory automation systems. In addition this role requires adaptation or development of novel compound logistics workflows and liquid handling processes.
In this role you will:

Execute assay plate production workflows and deliver samples to project teams on a daily basis.

Show strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to adapt laboratory processes to ensure research project needs are fulfilled and timely delivery is maintained.

Contribute expertise in liquid handling methods to the overall CLEL optimization of plate production processes and related data flows with highly orchestrated systems (e.g. expert use of Agilent VWorks, Tecan Fluent control, GBG Scheduler).

Nurture trustful relationships and effective collaboration with internal and external partners while helping maintain business continuity in the CLEL team by leveraging cross-training and ad hoc support of other key laboratory tasks.
Who you are
You are an enthusiastic laboratory expert with an educational background in biology, chemistry or robotics and automation. You have experience (5+ years) working in a drug discovery laboratory or a highly automated environment in the pharmaceutical industry. You are experienced and passionate about the processing and production of research samples for biological assays and about their data processing with complex liquid handling automation systems. You are eager to rapidly acquire new skills and knowledge adapting to complex and evolving environments.
