The Position
PTT - Global MSAT & Engineering is responsible for ensuring that PT stays at the forefront of technology in our facilities and supports our robust processes & efficient operations in a sustainable way. Our focus is integrating SHE, product health, process health with equipment fit for purpose and facility readiness in support of the manufacturing network.
Your opportunity
The technical Project/Program Manager is a key position in the PTT that is responsible for managing the portfolio of projects necessary for the effective and efficient implementation of large and complex cross functional and regional operations technology programs. This role maximises project management expertise, continuous improvement methodologies, and technical and digital capabilities to deliver business value in a dynamic work environment.
In this role you will collaborate with technical leaders within PT to facilitate large-scale, systemic change for the implementation of PT capabilities in alignment with the PT Performance Promises. Your responsibilities will include project management, strategic analysis, program coordination, financial/material/service oversight, and change and communications management. You will lead the delivery of technology projects and programs, ensuring the coordinated and sequenced execution of the PT Technology Portfolio to improve value from prioritized technology solutions. Success in this role requires a strong combination of project management expertise, technical knowledge, and a commitment to demonstrating the Roche Operating Principles.
This role, reporting directly to the Head of PTT (PT MSAT & Engineering) Strategy Realization Office, is a member of the Project, Program, and Portfolio Squad in PTT which provides strategic and tactical business support and project management to prioritize technology initiatives.

Act as a strategic partner and thought leader to the two enabling functions PTT and PTE Leadership Team members, driving capability building needs, organization design, and alignment with PT Strategy. Challenge the status quo and identify improvement opportunities.

Strategize and lead program planning, mobilize teams, gain agreement for solutions, and support the PTT and PTE operating model. Oversee program/project activities, baseline schedules, and control costs while ensuring timely completion of deliverables and adherence to budgets ($0.5M–$50M).

Build strong networks across the enterprise, forming partnerships with stakeholders, vendors, and other teams. Act as an advisor on portfolio matters, ensuring project objectives are clear, agreed upon, and effectively communicated.

Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives, manage interdependencies, and provide guidance to project teams, including vendors. Facilitate workshops, sprints, and governance approaches for successful implementation.

Develop and lead strategies for digital knowledge management, using analytical tools, big data technologies, and insights for data-driven decision-making. Support digital transformation with processes, tools, and sustainability initiatives.

Formulate risk mitigation strategies, analyze facilities and asset performance, and optimize value generation while ensuring regulatory compliance and balancing sustainability goals with financial considerations.

Apply lean and agile methodologies for continuous improvement, E2E process optimization, and workshop management. Act as a role model for agile mindset and contribute to measurable value realization.

Define and implement tailored change management plans for senior stakeholders, promoting agile concepts and driving cultural shifts. Communicate strategies effectively to ensure smooth transitions and adoption.
Who you are

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or Life Sciences with profound experience in Project Management and PMO experience in regulated fields (medical/combo devices, pharmaceutical operations, or digital transformation). MBA and/or PMI/Agile certification is highly desirable.

Extensive experience managing complex projects/programs, including Drug Substance, Devices and Drug Product GMP manufacturing technologies, with a strong track record of success. Proficient in Agile, Scrum, and other methodologies, including risk mitigation and mentoring Project Managers.

Demonstrated leadership in influencing stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and building strong networks across business functions, up to the executive level. Exceptional people skills, trust-building, and collaborative abilities in dynamic, matrixed, and global environments.

Advanced understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, digital enablement, and trends like robotics and emerging technologies. Skilled in Operational Excellence, Lean methodologies, financial management, and vendor management from RFP ideation to implementation.

Proven ability to deliver results in fast-paced, ambiguous, and complex environments. Exercises sound judgment, sets strategic direction, and independently manages commitments and deliverables.

Strong quality orientation, attention to detail, and ability to present complex technical topics to senior management. Skilled in facilitating virtual teams, leveraging technology, and tailoring resonant communications for diverse audiences.

Excellent self-learning and development skills to stay current on industry trends. Displays strong accountability behaviors, effectively prioritizes tasks, and drives objectives in complex environments.
