For the Membranes and Electrochemical Cells of the Electrochemistry Laboratory we are looking for a

Your tasks

  • Synthesize and characterize catalyst nanoparticles for radical scavenging and gas recombination
  • Develop new proton exchange membranes comprising nanoparticles
  • Characterize new materials and components in the water electrolysis cell
  • Study composition-structure-property relationships of developed materials
  • Elaborate prospects and limitations for next-generation water electrolyzers
  • Publish in international leading scientific journals, disseminate results at international conferences and symposia
  • Support teaching at ETH Zürich

Your profile

  • University degree in chemistry or materials sciences
  • Strong background in synthetic work
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Creative, hands-on personality
  • Well-developed communication skills and good command of the english language (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge in electrochemistry helpful
  • Programming skills would be an additional benefit
