Overview of Role
The position reports to the Team Leads and Regional Head, Oil Operations and will be part of the Operations team.
Main Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day oversight of desk operations
- Coordinate all operational aspects of physical trading books' activity, ensuring Operators safely and cost-effectively turn a physical trade into reality, per the contractual terms
- Assess operational and business risks, minimizing impacts which may impede success or growth of the Company/ Group and escalating those which require additional mitigation.
- Report required information from Operations processes to the Team Leads and Regional Head of Operations, as part of core activities, on a daily basis.
- Optimize trader strategies by utilizing knowledge of product movement and relationships with external parties, while accounting for the dynamics of delivery and supply, and resolving and communicating any transport issues that arise with traders.
- Review product movement reconciliations, along with the developing the capacity to facilitate Loss Control investigations
- Develop capability to assess risk (technical, contractual and operational) in non-standard contracts, and implementation: new regions and/or long-term tenders.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Team Leads and Regional Head of Operations.
Profile
The individual should have the following experience:
- 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in vessel cargo operations involving interactions with ports/terminals, agents, cargo inspectors, vetting, chartering, and ship shore compatibility.,
- Being detail-oriented and having an analytical mindset.
- Proficient in both written and verbal English and Mandarin languages, enabling effective communication with counterparties.
- Demonstration of a strong desire and eagerness to acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, capable of time management, and the ability to adapt and react to dynamic and changing circumstances.
- Should possess strong teamwork skills and be able to effectively collaborate with others.
