Security Engineer

EF Educational Tours is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to become a key member of the Information Security team in our Panama office (hybrid role). The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in multiple domains such as cloud security, network security, endpoint security, incident handling, and security automation. The primary responsibilities of the role include the design, implementation, and management of security solutions, collaborating with multi-functional teams across the organization to reduce cyber risk, and leading the response to security incidents.

What you'll do

• Design and implement security solutions in an AWS environment.
• Provide security support to engineering teams in the delivery of cloud solutions.
• Assess the security of cloud services and define requirements and guard rails to ensure that they are deployed in a secure manner.
• Conduct risk assessments of third-party and internally-developed solutions.
• Drive the remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Lead the response to cyber incidents.
• Perform outreach and promote security awareness throughout the organization.
• Lead initiatives to improve the organization's security posture.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of security standings, policies, and procedures.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Who you are

• You have 4+ years of experience in a security role and possesses general knowledge of a broad range of technologies such as servers, networks, databases, and web applications.
• You have expertise working in cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
• You are passionate about cybersecurity, remain current with the changing threat landscape, and committed to professional development.
• You hold security and/or cloud certifications such as CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or AWS Security Specialty.
• A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Technology or a related discipline is preferred.
