Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (part-time, maximum 522 hours). You will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.Being part of R&D electronics development team, you will contribute to more efficient and sustainable future by supporting the development of innovative power electronic controller solutions used in various traction converter applications. You will closely collaborate with our electronics hardware designers as well as hardware test engineers and get insights into state-of-the art electronics design and industrial design problems.The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to the R&D electronics development team in Turgi, Switzerland. Main stakeholder is ABB Motion. You will be mainly responsible for:• Building hardware test setups for component tests • Component testing including measurements analysis and test report writing• Electronic circuit analysis and simulation• Documentation and presentation of the results• Depending on interests, supporting the test automation with Python® or TestStand® scripts is possible
Qualifications for the role
- You currently pursue a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Information Technology
- You possess basic electronics design know-how
- You are interested in analog and digital electronics design
- You are interested in working in the electronic laboratory and not being afraid of working hands-on in electronics
- You are at ease communicating in English and German (at least B1)
- You are creative and possess a quick comprehension, as well as an independent, structured and proactive working style
- Experience in LTSpice®, PSPICE® or other simulation tools and in Python is beneficial
- You hold a current valid VISA/work permit for Switzerland
