The Proteomics Platform at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) provides comprehensive proteomics analysis support for FMI research groups. Our services include consulting, sample preparation, LC-MS measurements, data analysis and assistance with publication.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Proteomics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about applying cutting-edge proteomics technologies in multi-disciplinary research projects.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate on proteomics projects from conception to publication.
Apply and develop state-of-the-art proteomics technologies.
Operate and maintain advanced LC-MS instrumentation.
Analyze proteomics mass spectrometry data using the latest software.
Participate in internal progress meetings as well as external conferences and trainings.
About you
You hold a PhD degree (or equivalent level of experience) in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or a related field.
You have hands-on experience in nano LC-MS and proteomics sample preparation.
You have a proven track record of practical laboratory work and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
You have expertise in designing complex quantitative proteomics experiments, including workflows with affinity-enrichment, PTMs, low sample amounts and data analysis.
Experience with single-cell proteomics, workflow automation, Bruker timsTOF or Thermo Astral mass spectrometers is an advantage.
You are proficient in analyzing proteomics data with tools such as Spectronaut, DIA-NN, FragPipe, MaxQuant, Proteome Discoverer or einprot.
You have experience working with omics data analysis in R.
You are a strong team player and are keen to support researchers at all levels.
