System Design & Integration Engineer – UK Defence

Your tasks

• Work within the UK Projects team to deliver a variety of solutions for Secure Communications, EW, COMINT and SIGINT for Maritime, Air and Land domains.
• Hands on implementation and integration of systems into new and existing platforms/environments.
• Work with Solution Architects & Lead System Designers on the development of system architectures for new projects, coordinating inputs from HQ engineering, UK Sales and the UK Projects team.
• Help to define and describe the Technical Solution during bids.
• Develop innovative solutions to technical problems small and large, researching them yourself or pulling in experts as appropriate.
• Participate in design Reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
• Document the system design and maintain using approved corporate design tools, coordinating with Configuration Management as required.
• Support the development and improvement of local design processes.
• Participate in tests, trials and verification of system designs.
• Contribute as required to the resolution of in-service system issues.
• Create system test strategy development and validation, verification and test plan documentation in consultation with MCTA (STW & NWHT Documentation).
• Carry out the approval of subcontract test phases.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing including generating information to support bids, technical presentations to customers, generation of product specifications and attendance at customer meetings.
