Lead Strategic Market Development & Sales
We're a startup, founded in 2021 and fueled by a simple yet powerful mission: to develop pulse-based products everyone enjoys. We kicked off our start-up journey with consumer products made of pulses grown by «our» farmers in Switzerland. To increase our impact we are now focusing on pulse-based ingredients for the industry. We develop pre-mixes for specific applications in the dairy industry to set the new standard regarding taste, nutritional value & sustainability.
Now that you have an idea of who we are, let’s check if your needs and our needs align:
For us it is a given that you want to have an impact on the way we eat and farm in the future and that you are a «foodie at heart». We are looking for someone who is ready to contribute their experience and knowledge to help bring our innovative products to the market. Do you want to take over responsibility, lead your own projects and initiatives (supported by our founding team) and organize your work independently?
If you can answer these questions with a whole-hearted yes, let’s move on, to what you need to know in order to thrive at Fabas: Do you know how to think "out-of-the-box" to innovatively set up and improve our sales processes? Do you know how to apply your knowledge in B2B sales in the food industry to build and maintain strong relationships with our customers? And last but not least are you able to work efficiently and on your own initiative? Start-up life is amazing, if you can handle working independently..
Do you want to...?
- Develop our Market Entry & Growth Strategy: Craft go-to-market strategies for new products and regions, identifying key sales channels, partners, and customers
- Drive Early-Stage and Growth Sales: Build relationships with B2B clients, negotiate terms and conditions, and drive sales at all stages
- Build a team: Hire, train, and mentor sales and business development teams, fostering a growth-oriented and customer-centric mindset
- Provide Market Feedback: Offer insights about current and future market requirements, customer satisfaction, and contribute to shape product development and the product roadmap
- Positioning the Brand: Establish and communicate a strong brand message that resonates with customer needs and aligns with market trends
- Represent the Company: Promote the company, its values, and its products at national and international conferences and trade shows
Can you...?
- Communicate, present and negotiate with confidence
- Build successful customer relations
- Persuade customers of our products and solutions
- Successfully close orders
- Work with a strong sense of urgency with the ability to focus resources to achieve results
- Plan and execute in the short term and long term
- Have a proactive, self-starting mindset with a drive to move the needle and a “hands-on” mentality
- Adapt to a dynamic environment in a start-up and work independently
- Tackle problems quickly and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with a team to achieve results in a team environment and to set up necessary structures if needed
Ideally, you have...
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the FMCG industry, preferably in B2B ingredient sales
- Proven experience in building and expanding business, ideally within a startup or an innovative business unit where agility and strategic adaptability are key
- Demonstrated success in high-impact sales roles, with a track record of hitting revenue targets and growing client relationships from initial contact through to long-term partnership.
- Good understanding of food technology and manufacturing processes for dairy products
- Strong understanding of the customer journey within B2B food markets, capable of translating customer needs into product positioning and messaging
- Enjoyment of traveling nationally and internationally
- Proficiency in English and German; French or other languages are a plus
