We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Electrical & Calculation Engineer to reinforce the team in Geneva.
Role Summary/Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise in our activities of Traction Power Systems division and to design electrical and power electronic solutions which meet safety and quality standards.
Your mission:
- Study, dimension, and specify traction electric equipment: uncontrolled rectifiers, transformers, filters, etc. (according to relevant standards (EN, IEC, ANSI, IEEE)).
- Provide technical support to customer projects and sales departments acting as a technical specialist.
- Improve and develop sizing and calculation tools.
- Research and validation of components and subsets, semiconductors, coils, fuses, etc.
- Design and type tests procedures & supervision.
- On site tests and support.
- Perform troubleshooting in the event of an incident or equipment malfunction.
- Carry on network power simulation for railway (metro, tramway, train).
- Perform coordination of DC protections, harmonics analysis and other technical studies.
- Interface with sales, project management, R&D and testing teams.
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electrotechnics, power conversion or related field.
- Knowledge of calculation & simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Excel, etc.
- Willingness to learn international standards (EN, IEC, ANSI, IEEE).
- Good problem-solving skills, ambition to solve complex problems from a blank sheet.
- A positive attitude, initiative, proactiveness, teamwork skills and an outgoing personality.
- Experience is not mandatory in this role, we are part of a strong dedicated team that evolve and transfers knowledge, allowing everyone to learn and develop in specific topics.
- You are fluent in English, basics in French are preferable.
