The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), Worldwide Olympic Partners, and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.

As a Data and Information specialist, you will play a crucial role in improving processes and supporting data collection for the review of the Olympic programme and other strategic projects, and will provide valuable insights that inform decision-making processes related to sports’ inclusion, athlete participation and other initiatives from the IOC’s strategic roadmap.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Sports and Games-time data

Support the comprehensive collection and analysis of quantitative data across a variety of key performance indicators on sports’ popularity.

Clean, process and prepare data from various internal and external resources for the analysis, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.

Generate reports on emerging trends and future developments in the sports industry, as well as the evolving sports landscape, with support from various internal and external resources.

Work cross-functionally within the IOC to support the integration of new tools and platforms to streamline information and data processing and ensure timely access to critical insights.

Develop, maintain and improve automated processes for information storage and data collection, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort.

Manage team project tracking tools and dashboards.
Olympic programme support
Support elements of the Olympic Programme Commission activities, including meetings, preparation of reports, Games-time observations.
Sports Department strategic projects
Support the unit in the research, development and implementation of key strategic projects for the Sports Department, including those related to the IOC’s strategic roadmap.
In order to be eligible for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, information systems or a related field. A master’s degree or equivalent professional experience is advantageous.

Three to five years’ experience in data analysis, preferably within a sports or large-scale event management environment.

Advanced knowledge of data visualisation and reporting platforms such as Power BI.

Familiarity with project management tools like Smartsheet and collaborative platforms in the Microsoft 365 suite.

Fluency in English is a must. Proficiency in additional languages (e.g. French) is a plus.

Experience working with data that is confidential and may be subject to data-protection regulations (GDPR) and specific information security protocols.
