360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. The Opportunity
The Genomics Technology Platform within the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking an experienced scientific professional focused on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) method development, preferably with expertise in the (spatial) multimodal or multi-omics space(s). The successful candidate will have a proven track record in developing and refining cutting-edge NGS methodologies from inception to deployment. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, collaborating with specialists from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to propel drug discovery projects forward. Your contributions will be instrumental in advancing the capabilities of the Genomics Technology Platform within the pRED organization.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You will lead the evaluation, development, refinement, and implementation of innovative NGS methods and protocols, with an emphasis on (spatial) multimodal or multi-omics applications to enhance platform capabilities and provide comprehensive insights into disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets;

You will apply scientific rigor to ensure the generation of high-quality FAIR data and collaborate closely with other laboratory and bioinformatic teams to analyze and interpret complex sequencing data, providing recommendations to project teams;

You will embrace a culture of continuous learning by actively engaging with the latest scientific literature to stay at the forefront of emergent NGS technologies and approaches; present findings and updates to internal stakeholders and at scientific conferences (where appropriate), ensuring cutting-edge expertise is cultivated and maintained.
Who you are
-
You hold a PhD in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, with at least 3-5 years of professional experience in the genomics field, either in an academic setting, or in the pharmaceutical industry / biotech sector;

You possess a proven track record in NGS method development from the ground up, preferably in the (spatial) multimodal or multi-omics space, along with a thorough understanding of cutting-edge sequencing technologies and workflows, including library preparation, and data analysis;

You have an exceptional ability to collaborate within and across matrix teams, including molecular biologists, biochemists, proteomic scientists, and bioinformaticians, enabling both effective independent and team-based work in a diverse and heterogeneous environment.
