Our Pharma Global Product Strategy (GPS) team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by driving the strategic direction of our innovative product portfolio. The Disease Area Leader - Immunology & Infectious Disease role is critical to deliver on our Pharma Ambition. As the therapeutic area Late-Stage conduit into our early development teams, the Disease Area Leader plays a unique role in providing strategic insights and commercialization perspective to shape and steward our portfolio and create clarity on path to value, in particular through contribution to Asset and Disease Area Strategies and Business Development assessments.
Key Responsibilities

Asset Team member for Research and Early Development (REDs): Partner with R&Ds units and cross-functionally to ensure organizational alignment around understanding of future disease area context and ensure pipeline Asset strategies and Disease Strategies reflect value to patients, society and Roche. This includes providing global strategic guidance and business inputs into the development of Target Product Profiles, Clinical Development Plans with strong emphasis on value demonstration for pipeline molecules (until PivGo or LCL assigned)

Disease Area Strategy: lead a cross-functional end-to-end team in the development and maintenance of disease area strategies that reflects near and long term pipeline portfolio evolution to deliver value to patients, society and Roche.

Partnering GPS TA SPOC: Represent GPS in assessment of external landscape and partnering opportunities in the context of Disease Area Strategies and provide specific asset and platform/technology business input, path to value assessments and strategic guidance to support due diligence.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership: In partnership with CLT, lead the integrated development and commercialization planning (IDCP) process to bring affiliate inputs into asset and disease area strategies and decision making.
Who You Are
-
Scientific and commercial understanding of Therapeutic area (in particular in the Prioritized Disease area). with an established network of external stakeholders is preferred. Development, Portfolio, Partnering, Commercialization, Consulting and/or Medical Affairs team experience preferred. MBA, MD, PhD or other relevant Graduate or Postgraduate Degree is preferred.

Outstanding VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst and Coach) leadership skills: proven track record in building teams and ability to influence in a collaborative way within a cross functional environment

Exceptional strategic orientation and agility: outstanding ability to develop long term vision and deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry to create robust and innovative business strategies

Proven abilities to lead, collaborate and deliver in a complex and matrix environment, across across multiple priorities and stakeholders

Extensive experience in development and implementation of commercialization strategies, deep understanding of global health systems and access/reimbursement challenges, and product life-cycle planning and management
