Your role and responsibilities

For our traction and e-mobility business in Turgi, Switzerland, we are looking for a committed and passionate team leader (m/f/d) for our Infrastructure Engineering team. In this challenging role, you will manage a highly motivated team of engineers with expert knowledge in test infrastructure for traction applications and mobile e-Power. Your team, in close collaboration with local and global engineering teams, plays a pivotal role in the project execution and has an important influence on the customer satisfaction.Do you have the necessary skills and drive to lead a strong and highly motivated engineering team paired as a solid background in engineering? If so, this is your opportunity to take up a new challenge.You will be mainly accountable for:• Leading the test infrastructure team in technical and non-technical aspects• Coaching and supporting the team members to utilize their full potential• Training and coaching test infrastructure engineers of ABB’s local engineering centers• Developing, maintaining and improving test- and safety standards for traction and mobile e-Power test facilities• Ensuring continuous resource planning, adequate staffing and introduction of new members to the team• Identifying and driving continuous improvements within the team and the department• Establishing and maintaining close collaboration with other engineering, infrastructure and R&D teams to drive standardization and improvement of test infrastructure• Executing and/or supporting selected customer projects personally

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor or Master degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, preferably with focus on test infrastructure
• At least 5 years work experience in a technical customer project focused area
• Experience in planning, engineering, set up of test infrastructure for innovative drive technology, ideally in the field of railway, e-bus or heavy electric vehicle propulsion
• First leadership experience (team or project lead)
• Project management experience advantageous
• Strong level of self-motivation and structured approach to work
• Leader and team player with excellent communication skills, both in English and German
