Role Summary:
The APAC Supplier Commercial Manager will report to the Vice President, Supplier Management. This role will also be responsible for driving high-profile deals that require regional expertise and an in depth understanding of the Asia Pacific telecom market primarily, as well as good understanding of the Middle East & Africa. The position will also assist in reviewing costs and negotiations with suppliers for specific large opportunities.
This role operates within the Supplier Management department, which is responsible for the life cycle management of vendor agreements and supplier relationships. We provide GTT sales and network with vendor capabilities for service delivery at optimal cost. Day-to-day activities in Supplier Management include negotiation of T&Cs, researching and resolving vendor issues in concert with other GTT organizations, vendor documents, and related database management, supporting internal process flows, and providing expert advice on vendor capabilities and obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage with Sales, Sales Engineering and the internal costing teams (Quoting Managers, Complex Bids, Deal Desk) and directly with Suppliers to monitor the completion of projects to meet timelines.
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Utilizes market expertise to ensure appropriate costing, ensures data integrity of requests, and works with stakeholders to ensure accurate information.
- Maintaining current vendor information, including contracts and contact information, in internal databases
- Review and editing of vendor contract proposals
- Collecting and reporting on objectives and initiatives of other GTT organizations requiring vendor activity
- Liaising with vendors to gather and document contact information and service capabilities including coverage
- Advocacy with vendors for issue resolution
- Documenting and controlling access to vendor portals for order submission and trouble management
- Ad hoc research and reporting on vendor spend, inventory, capabilities, and issues in support of a wide range of needs from various groups and in support of projects internal to Supplier Management
- Department document production and filing
- Providing quarterly feedback to vendors on performance.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Market level expertise of Asia Pacific market and regions specifically in the telecommunications space.
- Experience in Middle East & Africa the telecom space is a strong advantage.
- 7+ years of data telecom experience, three of which are in managing wholesale supplier relationships
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be self-motivated with good planning skills
- Experience assembling bids for large enterprise network opportunities
- Advanced PC skills with Windows applications including but not limited to Excel and Word
- Strong document/database management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment
- Proven project management skills
- Knowledge of vendor contracts and support of contract negotiations
- Experience supporting a large volume of suppliers
Desirable Experience/Qualifications:
- Desire to learn new material in a fast-paced environment
- Technical knowledge of GTT products
- Telecom networks
- Four-year degree in Business or related discipline is preferred
Hours/Travel/Shift:
- The role is full time
- This role may be based in one of GTT’s major markets within Europe
- Remote work
- Domestic or international travel for company and vendor meetings is required
