Job description
We are currently seeking a talentedSpecialist in Additive Manufacturing Processes for Metalsto join our team inLeibstadt,CH. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in metallurgical processes, with expertise in additive manufacturing techniques and material behavior, particularly for nickel-based alloys and steel. Fluency in German is mandatory, with English proficiency considered an asset.
🔥Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize additive manufacturing processes using methods such as LPBF, DED, and WAAM.
- Analyze and enhance the microstructure development of nickel-based alloys and steels.
- Manage the entire process chain, from raw material and powder production to post-processing steps, including heat treatment and surface finishing.
- Utilize physical equations to model and describe LPBF and DED processes accurately.
- Perform thermodynamic and microstructural simulations using tools like CALPHAD, Thermo-CALC, Dictra, and JMATPRO.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and process reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of innovative solutions in additive manufacturing.
🎯Your Profile:
- You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- You have comprehensive experience with additive manufacturing processes, especially LPBF, DED, and WAAM.
- You possess in-depth knowledge of metallurgical processes and microstructure behavior of nickel-based alloys and steels.
- You are proficient in thermodynamic analysis and simulations using tools such as CALPHAD, Thermo-CALC, Dictra, and JMATPRO.
- You have a strong understanding of the entire additive manufacturing process chain, including powder production and post-processing techniques.
- You are fluent in German (mandatory) and have excellent communication skills; proficiency in English is a significant advantage.
- Ideally, you bring experience with simulation and modeling of material behaviors to support innovative manufacturing approaches.
